Privacy
What MockCam stores, why, who else sees it, and how to have it deleted. Last updated 29 September 2026.
Your account
Your account is your email address. We also store the name, handle and avatar you choose to add, your plan, and when you signed up and last signed in. We don't set tracking cookies and there are no ads on MockCam.
Signing in
To sign in with email we send you a one-time code. We keep only a scrambled (hashed) copy of it, and it stops working after 15 minutes. Signing in sets one cookie that keeps you signed in for up to 30 days; signing out removes it.
For security we keep a sign-in log: the email used, whether it worked, the time, your browser's name, your country as reported by our hosting provider, and a hashed form of your IP address (not the address itself). Each signed-in session keeps the same browser name and hashed IP.
The sign-in form, and reporting a showcase post while signed out, use Cloudflare Turnstile to tell people from bots. Turnstile runs in your browser and Cloudflare processes the check; we only receive a pass or fail.
Sign in with Google or GitHub
You can sign in with a Google or GitHub account instead of an email code. We only receive what that provider shares, and we store it to recognise you next time and link it to your MockCam account:
- Google: your Google account ID, your email address, whether Google has verified it, and your name.
- GitHub: your GitHub user ID, username and name, and your primary verified email address.
We never receive your Google or GitHub password, and we never post anything to those accounts. To unlink one, email support@mockcam.com. You can also ask us to delete your whole account (see below).
Payments
Paid plans are billed by PayPal. You pay on PayPal's side, so we never see your card or bank details. From PayPal we store your subscription ID, plan and status, and for each payment or refund its PayPal transaction ID, amount, currency and date. PayPal's own privacy policy covers what PayPal keeps.
Your shots and projects
The screenshots and recordings you upload, your projects and scenes, and renders you save to your cloud camera roll are stored privately for your account. They are only public if you post them to the showcase or share a link. Feedback you send from the app is stored with your email so we can reply.
Emails we send
We email you sign-in codes, a welcome note when you create an account, and a receipt or refund notice when a payment or refund goes through. These come from Cloudflare's email service.
Who else sees it
We don't sell or share your data. It is stored with Cloudflare, our hosting provider, which also sends our emails and runs Turnstile. PayPal handles payments, and Google or GitHub only if you sign in with them. Site statistics are simple page counts by country, with no cookies and nothing tied to you.
The waitlist
If you joined the waitlist before launch, we stored your email address, the time, which page you signed up on, the page that linked you there (if your browser sent it) and your country, and we use it only to tell you MockCam is open.
Deleting it
Email support@mockcam.com and we will delete your account and its data, including linked Google or GitHub sign-ins. The same address removes you from the waitlist.
